All day: Virtual XIV TTMD International HVAC+R Technologies Symposium
All day
1 June 2020The foremost goal of our Symposium is to widen the perspective about the concepts and products regarding the architecture and mechanical installation that consider them vital parts of climate-proper system design and operation. This time the Symposium will carry its objectives, content, and scope far beyond academic concerns with its opinion that system design supported by field experience blended in accordance with geographical and climatic conditions, microclimate and building interactions, outdoor and indoor environmental quality, high energy efficient building design, high efficiency system design approaches, renewable energy using innovative approaches, and constraints is a necessity for the proliferation of rationalist systems.
In pursuing the transfer of this necessity to best solutions, invited speakers of the Symposium will surely hold an important place in the main implementation axis. However, the Symposium will also serve as a stage for those who would like to manifest their novel research findings as presenters. We are confident that the participants of this Symposium will collectively benefit from both invited speakers and presenters working in theory and practice covering the broad field of the Symposium and be able to discuss various topics.

12 12 00 06006: Webinar : CREATE project: Save energy today and tomorrow12 12 00 06006: Webinar : CREATE project: Save energy today and tomorrow
2 June 2020The first global energy storage conference held in Paris in 2014 concluded that to achieve the European goal of energy-neutral built environment in 2050, harvesting, converting and storing seasonal energy is essential. The 2020 climate and energy package calls for a substantial increase in renewable energy by 2020.
The building sector accounts for the largest share of energy consumption in European Union (approx. 40 %). The solution should be applied to the current buildings, as it is expected that in 2050 two thirds of the building stock will be made up of already existing structures.
“The main aim of the CREATE concept is to tackle this challenge by developing a heat battery, i.e. an advanced thermal storage system based on Thermo-Chemical Materials (TCMs), that enables economically affordable, compact and loss-free storage of heat in existing buildings.”
Watch the video explaining the CREATE concept here. The webinar session will provide an overview of the CREATE technology and the research results, the market potential and most importantly the deployment of the heat battery in real conditions – the demonstration site in Poland. Join us live on the 2nd of June to find out more about the heat battery and how it enables better use of available renewable energy sources.

16 June 2020Since 2016, the lighthouse cities of Lisbon, London and Milan have implemented several smart city measures in the framework of the project Sharing Cities. Based on that knowledge and technical experience, Sharing Cities is launching a series of short webinars to explore each of those measures one by one: digital social market, e-bikes, building retrofit, sustainable energy management system, smart lampposts, e-mobility, and urban sharing platform. Each measure is also supported by a smart booklet and playbook which go into greater detail on how to replicate and scale-up in your city.
Starting in June, each of these webinars will present the implementation of one smart city solution through two case studies from lighthouse cities. After the presentations, all participants are invited to join the discussion, ask questions and share their experiences.

18 June 2020Welcome to an interactive webinar where we present the state of play of the Driving Urban Transitions Programme and the outcomes of the virtual AGORA where stakeholders process the outcomes of the public consultation in the program.
All interested stakeholders are invited to join this webinar for information and reflection on the next programme of JPI Urban Europe. The webinar offers the opportunity to learn more about the results of recent stakeholder consultations and co-creation workshops, and have a say on the draft implementation concept.
Background
10 years after the inauguration of JPI Urban Europe, we can look back at seven joint calls (three in cooperation with the European Commission) and more to come, over 85 funded projects bringing together 450 project partners throughout Europe and the world, an active AGORA community, among other achievements. After 10 years, it is the time for JPI Urban Europe to step up the game and increase efforts and activities to Drive Urban Transitions towards a Sustainable and Livable Future. We would like to invite you to join us into this next phase of the urban transitions journey. It is time to step up the game to make these transformations a reality, to benefit from all this knowledge and evidence and bring research and innovation into action. For that reason, JPI Urban Europe is working together with the European Commission on a longer term programme called „Driving Urban Transitions towards a Sustainable and Livable Urban Future“. This programme aligns European and Member State’s efforts to build a critical mass for urban transitions.

- Would prosumers and energy communities prefer to operate within a decentralised or a digitalised energy system? Would it correspond better to their needs, vision, legal and technical possibilities to create “energy islands” or be part of a “global interconnected Internet of Things (IoT)”?
- What features should a preferred system have? How should it be constructed?

REMOURBAN - Final Conference
REMOURBAN - Final Conference
16 July 2020
The REMOURBAN final conference will be the opportunity for the consortium to come together one more time (albeit virtually) to portray the legacy of this major 5-year Lighthouse project, including the project's sustainable urban regeneration model. It will mark the end of the project and the beginning of a new era of urban regeneration, more ecological, more citizen-centred and more intelligent in approach.
We will walk you through our actions and achievements in the three Lighthouse cities, Nottingham, Eskişehir/Tepebaşı and Valladolid while looking ahead to how all this can shape our urban and environmental policymaking in the years to come.
For distanciation reasons, the event will be virtual. It will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions, bringing together representatives of fellow projects, key European stakeholders and policymakers from the different European and Turkish cities that have participated in the project.
