PED REPLICATION

As a regional hub for more then 550,000 inhabitants, Trenčín has a rich manufacturing history in textile and arms industries. The city is currently focusing on diversifying its economic activites in the sectors of tourism, innovation, culture and industry.

The PED replication will involve a broader city centre area including multiple municipal buildings (schools and sports infrastructures) and residential builduings (individual housing and apartments).

With more than 55,000 inhabitants, Trenčín is the eight largest and third oldest city of Slovakia one of the 6 “Follower cities” involved in the MAKING-CITY project.

In Trenčín , multiple public buildings have been selected to replicate the PED concept developed in MAKING-CITY.

Trenčín will host the title of the European Capital of Culture in 2026, together with the Finnish city of Oulu.
