To reach the 1.5-degree scenario, there needs to be a major shift in capital flows towards low-carbon, climate-resilient options. The right frameworks, tools and analysis are vital to countries enabling this shift today, leading us into the next decade.
The pandemic has provided an opportunity for governments to rebuild their economies in a green way. The decisions they make now must put us on track for net-zero and in line with 2030 targets.

Seven Transformations for More Equitable and Sustainable Cities is the culmination of a six-year research effort revealing a new vision for urban development based on what has worked in many cities around the world. We find that income and GDP can no longer be the sole measures of poverty and a city’s success. And we show that improved access to core services like water, sanitation, energy, transport and housing for the urban under-served can lead to citywide prosperity and sustainability.

COP26 Glasgow
31 October 2021 – 12 November 2021
The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, will take place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, UK.
In light of the worldwide effects of COVID-19, the COP Bureau of the UNFCCC, with the UK and its Italian partners, had decided to re-schedule the conference initially slated for November 2020. Rescheduling the conference ensures that all parties can focus on the issues to be discussed at this vital conference and allows more time for the necessary preparations to take place. We will continue to work with all involved to increase climate ambition, build resilience and lower emissions.

8 November 2021 – 10 November 2021
COP26 is the most important climate meeting in a generation. It’s been 5 years since the historic Paris Agreement was signed by 197 world leaders at COP21, it is now time for all of us to raise our ambition, turn rhetoric into action, and deliver clear pathways for decarbonisation across every industry. We have entered a decisive decade to deliver on the climate emergency. But to create truly innovative, transformational change requires world governments, multilaterals, the business, investment and NGO communities to work together, accelerating the net-zero economy across the decade.
Overcoming a global health emergency and preventing the global climate emergency will require an unprecedented level of cross-sector, cross-industry and cross-border collaboration. Over the last 11 years, Climate Action has been uniting the public, private and NGO sectors alongside the UN climate change summits by convening the largest multi-stakeholder forum at COP: The Sustainable Innovation Forum. Each year, the Forum plays a key role in facilitating the connections that forge the cross-sector partnerships required to address the global climate emergency and transition to a net-zero economy.

17 November 2021 – 18 November 2021
The EU Clean Energy Package introduced the active consumer as prosumer and their rights to produce, sell and share their own electricity in Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). Currently EU Member States are transposing the new rules (RED II & IEMD) into national law. The national rules differ widely especially regarding the “enabling framework” for RECs and the economic conditions for energy/electricity sharing.
In this light the conference discusses four main themes:
- What lessons to be drawn from SCORE pilots and follower city projects esp. for municipalities?
- How to activate individual consumers to become prosumers and engage in energy efficiency?
- What opportunities and synergies can energy / electricity sharing provide for RECs?
- What business opportunities for professional actors from the energy world? - - Smartcity Expo World Congress and 1 other event
