Since the end of 2018, Groningen has been participating in the European Lighthouse project MAKING-CITY. They act as a lighthouse city; an exemplary city in Europe where countless innovations are tested in practice. In this exciting and challenging process, the Municipality of Groningen, TNO, New Energy Coalition, Nijestee, Waarborg Mediacentrale, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, RuG, Grunneger Power, CGI Netherlands, Sustainable Buildings and WarmteStad are doing everything they can to make two selected neighborhoods ‘energy positive’.
