The MAKING-CITY partners gathered from 15-16 May 2019 in Groningen (Netherlands). A very good opportunity to shoot a video presenting this Dutch city!
As one of the Lighthouse city of the project, Groningen is engaged in a urban energy transformation which involves two districts: Groningen North and Groningen South. Both have been selected to implement the Positive Energy District (PED) concept developed in MAKING-CITY through the retrofitting of residential buildings (floors, roofs, fronts, windows, smart thermostats and sensors to real-time measuring of energy consumption…) in order to maximise infrastructure performance, the installation of solar panels and solar thermal panels, and the use of biogas technology, among others.
